Shaving Brushes
KJ Beckett offers a large range of Shaving Brushes. These include Simpsons and Edwin Jagger, two of the most renowned Brands for the production of these shaving tools.
Simpsons Shaving Brushes
Simpsons began making shaving brushes almost 100 years ago in London, after their factory was destroyed during the second world war they relocated to Somerset where they have continued making their handmade shaving brushes up until this day, and from then until now because of their extremely high quality control, skilled craftsmen, and the high standard of the badger hair they use Simpsons are thought the world over to be the producer of world finest badger hair shaving brushes.
Edwin Jagger
All Edwin Jagger shaving brushes are filled with the highest quality, hand graded badger hair from the badger species Meles Meles (a sustainable source). Badger hair has been used for more than two centuries to make the finest shaving brushes. Rather than repelling it the hair absorbs water, and, when combined with a good quality shaving cream or soap, produces a rich shaving lather. With the circular lathering motion the fine tips of badger hair lift and soften the beard to create a smooth, creamy shaving lather, cleanse and massage the face gently resulting in a comfortable shave. Using a badger shaving brush in the daily shaving routine will enhance the shave quality, improve facial skin appearance and promote a genuine feel good factor.
Benefits of using a shaving brush
Shave brushes offer a number of benefits, including the ability to provide a close, comfortable and enjoyable shave. A fibrous bristle load holds significant amounts of water which mix with the soap lifted, the more water a brush holds, the moister and richer a lather will be. Thicker lather means that there is less chance of razor burn and cuts. Using a Shaving Brush also acts as an exfoliate for the skin, preparing it for the shave. The greatest benefit from shave brush use is the tendency to soften and lift facial hair before a shave. Applying shaving cream by hand mats hair or raises it unevenly. Shave brush use, however, requires a circular motion to form a lather suitable for a shave. Therefore, a razor does not need to be pressed to the skin in order to provide a close shave.
